Donald Woody

Pastor Don Woody was born in Southern Idaho and grew up in the middle of the Rocky Mountains in Northwest Montana where he came to know the Lord at the age of 18.  He married his high school sweetheart, Rachel, who was very instrumental in leading him to the Lord.  Rachel’s father was the pastor of the Baptist Church in the small town of Heron, Montana.  After their high school graduation and marriage, both Don & Rachel left for basic training in the army.  During his time of service in the United States Army, Don surrendered into the Gospel ministry in May of 1993.  In 1998 he accepted a call to serve as the youth pastor at Sunrise Baptist Church in El Paso, Texas.  He soon was called to pastor the First Baptist Church in Glenns Ferry, Idaho were he served faithfully for 13 years.  In 2011 he and his family were called to pastor Greencastle Baptist Church in Greencastle, PA.   His time there was a tremendous blessing and he and his wife left many friends and family when he accepted a call to pastor here at Emmanuel in Hyrum, Utah.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University.  He has three wonderful children, Rebecca, Chelsea & David and three grandsons and one on the way.   He loves people and finds nothing more enjoyable than making friends and sharing the Love of Christ with them.   His wife Rachel has always had a passion for the youth and has invested much of her time and energy helping disciple them.  He enjoys history, camping and sports.  He has coached at both the middle school and high school level in Track & Field and Basketball.  He recently was the Javelin coach in Greencastle.   His favorite verse is Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary,; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
