Emmanuel Baptist Church

Founding

Emmanuel Baptist Church (EBC)
began as a mission of the First Baptist Church of Brigham City, UT.

Beginning

First service was held on December 3, 1995 in a building that was originally the Hyrum First Ward, built in 1904-05.

First Pastors

Our first Interim Pastor was Earl Jackson.
God called Jim Herod to be our first full-time Pastor in June of 1996.

Land

In February 1998 EBC purchased 3 acres of land in Hyrum with plans to construct a church building.

Paid Off!

The church received a 15-year loan for the land. God consistently provided funds and the land was paid off in only 10 months!

Building
Begins

2001:
Construction begins on the church building.
Funding was a matter of prayer and faith.
The congregation believed they were called to build and trust that God would provide funding.

God Provides

God consistently provided funds.
Pastor Herod went to the post office and found a $25,000 check in the mail. The next day he found a $50,000 check.
The testimony of God’s faithfulness was visible to the whole community!

Volunteer
Work

Over 280 volunteers came from all over the United States to build our church!
After only 12 weeks, the building was standing.

Answered
Prayers

By September,
over $240,000
had been donated to fund the building of the church.
The congregation and community saw God’s provision and faithfulness first-hand.

Celebrate!

On September 15, 2001, the church gathered at the old building at
9:45 am and marched, celebrating God’s goodness, through town to the new church for a celebration and thanksgiving service in the new church that God built!
