wmu

WMU uses lessons from God's Word to teach women of every age how to evangelize the world and encourage their brothers and sisters in Christ!

'Girls in Action' (GA's)

1st grade - 5th grade girls

Meetings are on the first Saturday of every month

2:00-5:00 PM

The GA's program takes little girls around the world through missionary stories and Bible lessons., teaching them the importance of being bold and knowledgeable in their faith. There are hands on activities and mission projects that they can participate in, and by doing so, win badges and patches. They also have take home projects and studies that they complete on their own time that solidify the lessons taught in the once monthly meetings. Girls graduating from this program go directly into Acteens.

acteens

'Teens Who Act' (Acteens)

6th grade - 12th grade girls

Meetings are on the first Saturday of every month

2:00-5:00 PM

Acteens provides deep Biblical study crucial to the needs of developing young women, with an emphasis for them to look beyond themselves, and seek to find the purpose that God has for their lives. Missions is at the heart of what Acteens is all about, and much of the study is devoted to learning evangelistic strategies and practical ways to share Salvation with their teen world. There are projects and studies that the girls complete to earn charms and patches, and opportunities to become part of the national Acteens panel as well as winning scholarships for college. This also provides the proper foundation for them to become Christ filled participants of WMU.

'Women's Missionary Union' (WMU)

High School Graduate and up

Meetings are on the last Saturday of every month

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

WMU is the practical arm of the women's ministry movement. The women study Biblical topics relevant to their specific walk with God, with the emphasis on how to put what is learned into action. This ministry has within it several church wide programs that are headed and maintained by the participants of the Emmanuel Baptist WMU. Our Programs are based on the Reach Philosophy:

Reach In: Reaching in to meet the needs of the other members of Emmanuel Baptist through the preparation of food, financial giving, encouragement, or any other type of charity in an effort to show love and compassion so that the lost world will know we belong to Jesus because we “love one another.”

Reach Out: Reaching out into our local community in practical ways in an effort to provide a platform from which we can proclaim the love of Jesus to all people.

Reach Around: Reaching around the world through missions education, giving, collections, and many creative types of support to assist those Christians beyond our borders in their Kingdom efforts. Also ministering to them so that they are fully equipped to do what God has called them to, while training new work-women for the fields that are ready for harvest.
